Blog Award!

So, I have have been given a blogger award!  Yay me, and thanks to Breanna over at Adventures in Mommyland!  I love this whole blogging thing, and I hope to be able to update more once everything settles down with baby girl.
She has had 2 hospital trips so far.  Once for a UTI.  She had to stay 2 nights, 3 days and get IV antibiotics.  She was only 19 days old.  It was so sad to see her little arm with an IV in it.  Both sets of parents came to visit at the hospital and you could tell how upset it made them.  She also had to get a spinal tap.  DH and I stayed in the room with her, but we weren't allowed to touch her.  They made us sit in the chairs against the wall.  She was so upset.  Screamed and cried.  The doctor stuck her once and couldn't get any fluid.  I almost lost it on the staff.  It caused me unimaginable pain to hear her and not be able to do a darn thing about it.  I didn't sleep for over 48 hours and just spent a lot of time crying.  She got her antibiotics, didn't have meningitis (thank God!), and we were able to take her home.  They discharged her and went to take out her IV.  The worst part (as anyone who has had an IV knows) is the tape!  When will they come up with a better way?  She screamed and cried again and I just help her and cried with her.  Heartbreaking!
The second hospital trip was after she had an upper gi done to check for reflux (which she has).  The barium that they made her drink gave her the worst diarrhea.  The pediatrician was worried about her getting dehydrated so her sent us in.  We sat in the ER waiting room for 3 hours before being taken back.  The resident came in, looked at her and sent us home.  It felt like a wasted trip, but we always err on the side of caution with her.
So, poor baby has acid reflux.  I was wondering why she wasn't eating normally anymore.  She would arch her back and scream when she tried to eat.  She didn't sleep well for a few nights and was miserable all day long.  She has started Zantac 3 times a day, and (knock on wood!) it seems to be starting to help.  I'm hoping it gets better and better as the days go on.
So far it has been quite an adventure, and we feel so blessed to be a part of it!

Stats:
9 lbs 1 oz (last week at appointment)
Still exclusively breastfeeding (yay me!)

That's all I can think of right now!
Thanks for the award, and I know there are rules for them, I will take care of that next week!
