36 Weeks!

Oh how nice it is to know that we will be snuggling our tiny little one in 21 days!  We have a c-section scheduled for January 25th and I am so looking forward to meeting baby girl.  We finished her room (for the most part!), and we are just working on deep cleaning one room at a time from now until she is born.  I have lists upon lists at home of stuff that needs to be taken care of or purchased in the next 21 days.
Christmas was nice, we didn't get to see my family at all.  My Dad got a horrible case of the flu and bronchitis, so he didn't want me to be around him in case I got it.  They might come see us this weekend.  We spent the day with DH's family.  We got so much stuff.  A new griddle for the kitchen, a digital picture frame, new clippers for me to cut DH's hair and I got my new purse!!  So beautiful!  DH got me our diaper bag and I got him a new hoodie and a CD that hasn't even shipped yet from Amazon!  I am getting so frustrated with it!  I ordered it on December 14th with an expected delivery date of December 24th.  Nothing yet!  If it wasn't his favorite band I would cancel the order.
SIL and my brother both gave us BRU giftcards for Christmas so we were able to get the last minute stuff we needed.  I feel better now that most everything has been purchased.  I still have a few things to buy, but am hoping that the money situation gets a little better before we have to buy more stuff.
We had so much snow here last weekend, I had to take Monday off as a snow day.  That, along with taking Tuesday off so we could go to DH's doctor about his back really screwed up my paycheck.  It was less than half of what it normally is and came at a really crappy time of the month (rent time!), so we are struggling right now.  We have to make it to Friday with 1/4 tank of gas and whatever food is in the pantry and freezer.  It's going to be a struggle, but we've been through worse.
I am now going to weekly ultrasounds and appointments on Wednesdays, but had to get bloodwork done and go in for an appointment yesterday too because my blood pressure was a little high last week.  The office called me to ask me if I could come in early for my scan and appointment because the midwife was on call and needed to leave the office earlier than my scheduled appointment of 3:30 PM.  Luckily, I was home at 2 and able to be there by 2:30 PM.  I went in and was taken back for my scan.  Everything was fine, baby girl is doing well.  Passed her bpp with an 8/8 and we were sent into the waiting room to wait for the midwife.  They took me back about 15 minutes later and put me into the hottest room in the office that smelled like cigarettes and cheap cologne.  Made me want to throw up.  We sat in that stinky hot room for an hour waiting for the midwife.  It was 4 PM before she came in the room.  I was so mad and irritated at this point.  She leaned on the counter, thanked me for my patience and told me the baby is fine.  Then informed me that since my blood pressure was a little high I needed to come back on Monday for a follow up after I went to the lab for bloodwork.  WTF lady.  I went the next morning and got my bloodwork done.  Left work early to meet with the OB.  My blood pressure is fine.  The OB's office on the other hand is on my last damn pregnant nerve.  If I wasn't 36 weeks pregnant I'd probably start looking for a new doctor.
Another thing that really frustrated me was the fact that every appointment after 30 weeks, I've been told to do my kick counts.  If baby girl didn't move 10 times in 2 hours, or 5 times in 20 minutes after eating I was to go right into the hospital.  Never had a problem with this before.  I know my childs movements and on Thursday night she was not moving normally.  She moved 3 times in 3 hours.  I ate dinner, drank cold water, drank cold iced tea.  Nothing.  So, DH and I decided better to be safe than sorry and headed into L&D.  I was told to not even call on-call about mvoements, just head straight in.  Now, keep in mind that this is a pretty small hospital in a resort area in the off season.  You go into the emergency room entrance and check in there.  There was 1 person in the emergency waiting area.  Nothing like a hospital in the city.  We went in and checked in.  They took me right upstairs to L&D.  I was told to put on a gown, so I went into the bathroom to pee.  DH was sitting there when he heard the nurse around the corner tell someone she didn't have time for this crap right before she walked in and asked where I was.  DH said, in the bathroom.  She stormed out and sent someone else in.  I was hooked up to the monitors and the RN came back in.  She asked me why I had come in, and when I told her that baby girl moved 3 times in 3 hours she looked at me like I was an idiot!  That's plenty of movement, she told me!  Well, the doctors office told me to come in if we didn't feel 10 in 2 hours, blah, blah, blah.  So, after being on the monitor for an hour baby girl started moving.  10 minutes later she discharged me and handed me a paper that said any movement in 12 hours was fine.
I am so frustrated and confused.  Why are the L&D people and the OB's office not on the same page when it comes to movement?  I understand they are busy people, but this is my child we're talking about.  If I have to show up to L&D every darn day until she is born, I will!  Vent over!
13 more work days until I go on maternity leave.  I am so ready to be done.  I am cranky and tired.  It bothers my hip to sit here all day.  I'm just blah.
So, tomorrow I will be back at the OB's office, but this time we get to see baby girl instead of just listen to her heartbeat.  I'm excited to see how much she has grown and how ready she is to join the world!
Happy New Year!!!
